We’ve been covering a lot of new updates around the Phone Link feature lately, and here’s another genuinely useful one. Microsoft is now testing a shortcut in Windows 11 that lets you mirror your Android phone’s screen directly from the Start menu—no need to open the Phone Link app manually.
As spotted by Windows Latest, this new feature adds a screen mirroring trigger to the Start menu’s phone companion panel. If your Android device is already linked to your PC via Phone Link, you’ll see your phone icon there. One click, and you can instantly start mirroring the screen.

This builds on an already solid set of features in Phone Link. Users can transfer files between devices, send texts, take calls, and even use their phone as a webcam for the PC. Now with this Start menu integration, the workflow feels even more streamlined.
The screen mirroring shortcut is currently limited to select Android smartphones and is only available for testers in the Windows Insider Program. Microsoft is expected to expand availability to everyone in June.
