windows 11 web camera

Microsoft will let you choose the resolution of your web camera or a specific web camera connected to your Windows 11 device.

Spotted by Windows enthusiast @phantomofearth, in the latest build to the Canary channel in Windows 11, the operating system offers additional settings when setting up the web camera that allows you to choose between different resolution options.

The option will let users choose between having Windows choose for them or manually choosing another option, as shown in the featured image above.

The feature is currently hidden, so we’re not sure if Microsoft will release it to the stable channel of Windows 11 one day. However, if you’re enlisted in the Canary channel and want to play with it, you can now enable it with a special command.

However, remember that you’ll need to use ViveTool, a third-party app specialized in enabling hidden features in Windows 11. Here’s the command (kudos to @phantomofearth)

vivetool /enable /id:52142480

Let us know if it works for you.
