Windows 365, Microsoft’s Windows 11-based Cloud PC system, will soon be enhanced with a Resize option, allowing organizations, admins, IT experts, and any other customer to change the size of a virtual computer (Cloud PC) within a specific group or assignment for Windows 365 Frontline.
In other words, if you change the Cloud PC size (like increasing its memory or processing power) in a particular assignment, all the Cloud PCs in that assignment will be adjusted to match the new size you selected.
This makes it easier for IT admins to manage a network of Cloud PCs, as they won’t just resize one PC; they will be updating all the PCs in that group to the new specifications.
The new Resize option for Windows 365 was announced in a recent entry to the Microsoft 365 Roadmap. Here’s what it says:
When changing the Cloud PC size on a specific assignment within the provisioning policy for W365 Frontline, all of the Cloud PCs in that assignment will be resized to the newly selected Cloud PC size.
The Redmond-based tech giant is planning to roll out the feature in May of this year, but not before previewing it to users first.
Why does it matter? This feature will make it easier for organizations to ensure the stability of their Cloud PC network. With it, the network can be resized to the more powerful device within it, allowing all users of the Cloud PC network to have a bugless and lag-free experience.
