Windows UWP Map Control and Maps platform API will be deprecated

Starting this month, Microsoft will deprecate Windows UWP Map Control and Maps platform API within the operating system. The Redmond-based tech giant announced the deprecation on its official blog post,
However, despite the deprecation, the apps will still function but won’t be updated.
The Windows UWP Map control and Windows Maps platform APIs within Windows have been deprecated as of April 8, 2025. The Maps UWP Control and Maps platform support within Windows will continue to function but will not be updated.
The deprecation happened because Microsoft unified Bing Maps for Enterprise with Azure Maps, and due to it, Microsoft advised all organizations using the Windows UWP Map Control to move to the Azure Maps replacement.
This was back in 2024, with Microsoft giving organizations one year to migrate.
