Microsoft still sends alerts about Windows XP's End of Support, but does it help anyone

Windows XP, released on October 25, 2001, has been out of support for a decade, i.e., from April 8, 2014. When Microsoft dropped support for XP, most upgraded to Vista (released in 2007) or Windows 7 ((released in 2009) after a few years. But, some haven’t done so to date!
It now appears that Microsoft recently sent them another reminder about Windows XP’s End Of Support on April 8, 2024, exactly ten years after the iteration went out of support.
In a post on Reddit, a user shared a screengrab of the alert received on the Windows XP computer.
Soon, a few theories started doing rounds. A user pointed out that Microsoft still sends EoS alerts on the 8th of every month, while some others blamed it on the KB2934207 update.
While we couldn’t verify if there exists a periodic EoS alert schedule, uninstalling the KB2934207 update should help when the reminders are persistent!
Will End of Support alerts make Windows XP users upgrade?
Frankly, these reminders won’t help. Everyone running Windows XP at this point knows about the reduced security and increased vulnerability. And they are just so used to the UI that upgrading doesn’t seem like a viable option. Besides, their computer runs fine and can connect to the Internet.
Windows XP in 2024 is still doable, and that’s what matters the most!
Even if they were to upgrade, which iteration would they go with, Windows 10 or Windows 11? The former, i.e., Windows 10, will soon reach the end of support, and Windows 11 requires high-end configurations, which a 15-year-old PC is unlikely to have.
So, as long as Windows XP users are not considering getting a new PC, they won’t upgrade, no matter how many End of Support reminders Microsoft sends!
