Microsoft released KB5055613 to the Windows 11 Insider Preview Build channel, and with it, the Redmond-based tech giant introduced several innovative features aimed at enhancing user experience and accessibility:
First things first, thanks to the new AI-powered widgets, you’ll be able to watch videos in Windows 11 widgets. The Widgets interface has been updated to allow users to read full articles, slideshows, and videos directly from the MSN feed. Additionally, the Weather widget and other widgets on the Lock screen are now customizable.
The Redmond-based tech giant says the new feature is gradually rolling out to Windows Insiders.
KB5055613 also improves Windows Search in Windows 11: The search box on the taskbar now supports natural language queries, allowing users to find settings without remembering exact names.
For example, typing “change my theme” will direct you to the relevant settings page. This feature is powered by the advanced neural processing unit (NPU) on Copilot+ PCs, enabling offline semantic search.
Enhanced Accessibility with Narrator is also available with this patch: Narrator now provides detailed descriptions of images, charts, and graphs using AI.
This feature is particularly beneficial for blind and low-vision users, offering contextual descriptions of visuals, such as identifying people, objects, colors, and text in images. Users can activate this feature with the shortcut Narrator key + Ctrl + D.
Elsewhere, KB5055613 fixes many of Windows 11’s known issues, including bugs with the touchpad, desktop icons, or File Explorer.
