word for the web copilot

Word for the Web, the online-based version of the popular Microsoft Word platform, has been enhanced to support accessing Copilot anywhere on the platform.

In a blog post, Microsoft says the update can already be tried by all users with a Copilot license (basically, you’ll need to pay a Copilot/Microsoft 365 subscription).

The Redmond-based tech giant says the update will help users create, edit, and review documents more efficiently.

How does this new update work? Well, you’ll be able to access Copilot in Word for the Web, by simply navigating on the document: the icon will appear in the margins where your cursor is.

Microsoft says Copilot will still be accessible in the side pane of Word for the Web, where users can ask questions, brainstorm ideas, and summarize text.

This update is already on Microsoft Word, and users with a Copilot/Microsoft 365 subscription (please be aware that Microsoft has changed the price) can access the AI model this way anywhere on the platform.

You can read more about it in the official blog post.
