XBOX Game Pass Is About to Lose 5 Games on August 31

Five games are leaving XBOX Game Pass on August 31, giving subscribers less than two weeks to play them through the service or buy them at a discount.

It has already been a busy week for XBOX. More than 30 games are coming to the XBOX platform, while the Stream Your Own Game library expanded with 85 new titles.

Microsoft also recently added handheld support to 41 more XBOX games. Now, attention is turning to the games that will disappear from Game Pass before September begins.

Five XBOX Game Pass games leave on August 31

Microsoft has confirmed that five games will leave XBOX Game Pass on August 31, 2026, as PureXbox reports.

The list includes games available across console, PC, and cloud, although platform availability differs between titles.

The five games leaving XBOX Game Pass are:

• Neon Abyss – Console, PC, Cloud
• One Lonely Outpost – Console, PC, Cloud
• Another Crab’s Treasure – Console, PC, Cloud
• I Am Your Beast – Console, PC, Cloud
• The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt – Console, Cloud

The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt stands out as one of the biggest departures this month. CD Projekt Red’s open-world RPG remains available through Game Pass until the end of August on supported console and cloud platforms.

Another Crab’s Treasure is also leaving across console, PC, and cloud, giving subscribers only a limited amount of time to finish it through the subscription.

Game Pass members can buy the games at a discount

Subscribers who want to keep playing after August 31 can purchase the departing titles before they leave the catalog.

XBOX Game Pass members can receive discounts of at least 20% on the games while they remain part of the service.

Buying a game also means players can continue from their existing progress after its Game Pass availability ends, provided they purchase a compatible version for their platform.

Microsoft is also preparing the next wave of additions for September 2026.
