The February Wave 1 lineup for Xbox Game Pass is now live, bringing a fresh batch of games for subscribers. Alongside the new releases, Microsoft has expanded its Stream Your Own Game Library feature with 40 additional titles, giving players more flexibility across devices.

This first wave adds several notable games to the catalog, continuing Microsoft’s steady content cadence for early 2026. The expanded streaming library also signals a stronger push toward cloud-based play, letting users access owned games without local installs.

Microsoft might be planning Game Pass tier changes

Not all the news sounds straightforward. According to reports from The Verge, later corroborated by Windows Central, Microsoft is exploring potential changes to the Game Pass subscription structure.

Sources describe early-stage discussions around a possible merge between PC Game Pass and Xbox Game Pass Premium. The talks remain exploratory, and insiders do not expect major Game Pass changes this year.

Pricing and access questions

Today, PC Game Pass costs roughly $16.50 per month, while Xbox Game Pass Ultimate sits at $30 per month. Xbox Game Pass Premium costs $15 but lacks full PC Game Pass coverage and day-one first-party releases.

A merged tier could raise costs for PC users if pricing stays flat, while also changing which games PC subscribers can access. Microsoft has not confirmed any plan to remove day-one releases from PC Game Pass, though future tier adjustments could shift some first-party titles toward Ultimate exclusivity.

In related updates, the Xbox app has now launched on ARM-based PCs. The information comes via VideoCardz, adding another step toward broader Windows gaming support.

For now, Microsoft has announced no official pricing or tier changes, so subscribers will need to wait and see how these discussions evolve.
