Xbox Game Pass Starter Edition Officially Announced for Discord Nitro Users
Discord and Xbox are officially expanding their partnership once again, but this time, things are going far beyond voice chat integration and game streaming. While the details of the new partnership leaked last month, both Xbox and Discord have officially announced that Discord Nitro members are now getting Xbox Game Pass included as part of a brand-new “Nitro Rewards” push. Whereas Xbox Game Pass subscribers are also set to receive Discord Nitro perks later this month.
Discord Nitro now includes Xbox Game Pass and gaming rewards
Between Xbox Game Pass, Discord Nitro, and premium gaming hardware discounts now getting bundled together, both companies appear to be leaning heavily into the idea of an all-in-one gaming lifestyle subscription. Speaking of the biggest change, Discord has officially confirmed that eligible Nitro members now receive a starter edition of Xbox Game Pass at no additional cost.
According to Discord, the bundle includes access to a library of over 50 PC and console games alongside 10 hours of cloud gaming support. In the announcement post, Discord says the idea is to reduce “friction” around trying new games rather than forcing players to purchase every title individually. The company specifically highlighted games like Fallout 4, Stardew Valley, DayZ, Deep Rock Galactic, Overcooked 2, and Grounded as part of the lineup.
That’s not all. Nitro members are also getting new hardware discounts, including up to 30% off Logitech G products, 15% off SteelSeries gear, and 20% off KontrolFreek accessories.
Xbox Game Pass users are also getting Discord Nitro perks soon
On the Xbox side, eligible Game Pass subscribers will soon begin receiving Discord Nitro-related benefits as part of the partnership expansion. Those perks will include 250 Discord Orbs every month, 1.2x bonus Orbs for completing Quests, and automatic Discord Shop discounts. Discord is also rolling out a new “Usage” and rewards-focused experience designed to keep Nitro members more engaged across gaming services.
At a time when subscription fatigue is becoming increasingly common across gaming and streaming services, both Xbox and Discord appear to be betting that stacking perks, rewards, cloud gaming, social features, and hardware discounts together may keep players locked deeper into both ecosystems.
