xbox insider revamp

The Xbox Insider Program is getting a revamp, as Microsoft announces in their latest blog post. The revamp will happen gradually over the following months, but it’s happening. It all started with changes on the Xbox Insider Blog, and now Microsoft has officially announced that the whole program will undergo some major changes.

Some of our more eagle-eyed community members have already noticed changes to our Xbox Insider blog, so we wanted to chat with everyone about it. These changes (and maybe some you haven’t even noticed yet!) are just the beginning of a months-long transformation, which will restructure our community platforms to allow for better engagement from everyone here at Xbox.

The change might be linked to the recent ABK acquisition deal closed by Microsoft, earlier this month. As Xbox will surely experience growth due to the influx of Activision-Blizzard-King players coming to the console, Microsoft might want to take a step back and rethink the whole purpose of Xbox Insider.

However, the Redmond tech giant doesn’t directly say anything about it; instead, the changes are coming to improve the overall experience of every Xbox gamer, while also making it easier to break down and test new features.

So what should you expect from the Xbox Insider revamp?

Xbox Insider revamp: All the changes coming to the program

According to Microsoft, the program will suffer (or benefit) from changes meant to prepare it for what’s coming. Although this is not officially stated, it could be a hint that the system needs a redesign to handle a lot of games. After all, earlier this year, Microsoft said that there were over 5,000 new games in development for Xbox.

Anyway, here’s what you should expect:

  • Foundational clean-up and setting the stage for everything in their pipeline, according to Microsoft: the current social channels will experience an overhaul.xbox insider revamp
  • Design, content, posting frequency, etc. might be in flux while Xbox addresses everything, so you should be aware of the instability of the program moving forward. Rest assured, it will be temporary.
  • Improved communications: Microsoft promises to bring back the spirit of a true community platform to Xbox Insiders.

With this being said, the revamp of the Xbox Insider Program promises to better engage with, listen to, and uplift the entire Xbox community.

What do you think about it? Will it work?
