Xbox fans looking forward to the annual Xbox Wrapped might be disappointed this year. According to Windows Central, the 2025 edition won’t be happening, as Microsoft has plans to reallocate its community event budget to prepare for next year’s celebrations.

Jez Corden’s source suggest that Xbox is gearing up for a massive 25th anniversary in 2026, which will include not only Xbox milestones but also major anniversaries for some of the company’s top franchises. Expectations around celebrations of Halo’s 25th, Blizzard’s 35th, and Bethesda’s 40th anniversaries has also been pointed out in the report. So, it’s clear that Xbox is sort of promising an event-packed year for gamers.

Here’s what Corden noted in his report for Windows Central:

For sure, I’m told Microsoft has some big plans to celebrate Xbox’s 25th anniversary in 2026, which is why you’ve seen some decreased activity for Xbox community events in 2025. Some of that budget was moved through to next year to accommodate.

While Xbox Wrapped has become a fan-favorite recap of gaming highlights from a year, it’s absence might be dissaoointing for many. But, worry not, True Achievements has you covered with their own version of Xbox Wrapped.

For now, Xbox fans will have to skip their 2025 Wrapped stats and achievements, but the promise of a bigger, more exciting 25th-anniversary celebration may make the wait worthwhile.
