XBOX Store Expands Handheld Support With 38 New Compatible Games
2 optimized and 36 compatible games join XBOX handheld lineup
Microsoft continues expanding handheld support across the XBOX ecosystem. After confirming that more than 30 games are arriving on XBOX this week, the company has now added handheld support labels to 38 more titles on the XBOX Store, according to True Achivements.
The latest batch includes two new Handheld Optimized games and 36 Handheld Compatible titles. Major additions include Final Fantasy VII Rebirth, Mixtape, Riven, and Bubsy 4D.
XBOB keeps building handheld support
Microsoft has gradually expanded XBOX handheld support labels as rumors continue surrounding future XBOX portable hardware and third-party gaming handhelds.
The new labels help players understand how games may perform on handheld gaming devices connected to the XBOX ecosystem.
Handheld Optimized titles should work well immediately on supported handheld systems. Handheld Compatible games should still run, although players may need to adjust graphics settings or controls for the best experience.
New Handheld Optimized games
This update adds two games under the Handheld Optimized category:
- Final Fantasy VII Rebirth
- Nocturne for Cyl-Hestia
The addition of Final Fantasy VII Rebirth stands out as one of the biggest updates in this rollout, especially for players interested in portable RPG experiences.

Microsoft has recently increased its focus on handheld gaming experiences. XBOX also started making playtime statistics easier to read after community feedback requested total hours instead of day-based tracking.
At the same time, rumors continue surrounding new handheld hardware. ASUS is reportedly preparing to reveal a next-generation ROG Ally device during Computex 2026, although the company has not officially confirmed those plans yet.
