Key notes
- Xbox One users can set up custom lists and organize them into categories, making it easier to find the apps or games they want to play at a glance.
- However, many gamers have reported problems when trying to add new items to existing groups.
- If you're one of the affected parties, an easy workaround could be to update your console.
The Xbox One has a very powerful feature that lets you organize your games and apps into groups, so you can easily find them. This can be especially useful if you have a lot of games and don’t want to scroll through all of them every time you want to play something.
Recently, users have reported that they are bombarded with the error code 0x800c0009 whenever they try to add some of their favorite games to groups or when they try to create a new group. Elsewhere, others can’t join the Xbox party but we have already addressed the issue in our detailed guide.
Why am I getting the Xbox error code 0x800c0009?
If you get the Xbox error code 0x800c0009, it may be because of one of the following reasons:
- Corrupted profile – If you have recently switched from one Xbox console to another, it is possible that the previous owner’s profile was corrupted, or the profile is not allowed.
- Outdated Xbox console – You may experience issues with your Xbox if your console is outdated or hasn’t been updated in a while.Â
- Beta program bugs – The Xbox beta program is a great way to get early access to new features and test them out, but it also has its fair share of bugs.
- The game is already in a group – If you’re attempting to add a game that’s already in one of your groups, then it won’t let you do so again.Â
- Unsupported game – You can only add games that you purchased directly from the Microsoft Store or have redeemed a code for to your library.Â
