The first Always Connected PCs powered by Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 835 SoC will start shipping this quarter, Microsoft and Qualcomm confirmed yesterday. So far, only Asus, HP and Lenovo announced such devices which will run full Windows 10, although with some limitations.
Qualcomm also revealed the first leading retailers that will distribute these new Windows 10 on ARM laptops:
- U.S.A: Amazon, Microsoft Stores
- Australia: Microsoft Stores
- China: JD.com
- Italy: Unieuro
- France: Boulanger, Fnac
- U.K.: Asus Stores, BT Shop, John Lewis, Microsoft Stores, PC World
In a separate press release, Qualcomm said that “select operators also plan to stock Always Connected PCs in their retail locations,” without sharing more details. In the US, the AT&T, Verizon, Sprint and T-Mobile will all support these first Always Connected PCs on their networks, which is very encouraging. As the first quarter of 2018 is coming to a close, we may hear more about Always Connected PCs next week during Mobile World Congress.
