Opera Incognito History: Can You Check or Retrieve it?

Many are wondering if is there a way to view Opera incognito history, and in today’s guide we’re going to tell you everything you need to know about it.

How do I check Opera’s Incognito history?

1. Use the ipconfig command

1. Press the Windows key + S and type cmd. Open Command Prompt.
   
2. Next, run ipconfig /displaydns
   
3. A list of all visited domains will now appear on your screen.

While this isn’t the exact browsing history, you can see which domains, not pages, were visited recently, even if you’re using Incognito in Opera.

2. Use Off the Record History extension

1. Go to the Off The Record History page.
2. Click on Add to Opera and then click on Add to confirm.
    
3. Next, click on the Extensions icon in the top right and choose Manage extensions.
   
4. Locate Off The Record History and check Allow in Incognito.
   
5. Open Incognito mode in Opera and start browsing.
6. Click the Off The Record History icon to reveal your browsing history.
   

This is a useful extension since it will temporarily preserve your browsing history even in a Private browsing window. However, you won’t be able to view any browsing history before you install this extension.

Does Opera save private history?

No, Opera doesn’t save any private history on your PC, so you can’t access it once you close the Private browsing window.

How do I retrieve Incognito browsing history?

This isn’t possible since nothing is stored on your PC while you use Private browsing. If you want to save the websites you visit, your only option is to add them to your bookmarks while browsing or use specialized extensions.

Can Incognito history be seen?

No, Incognito history can’t be seen by other users who share the web browser with you. However, the browsing history can be seen by your Internet Service Provider, employer, or school administrator.

As you can see, it’s impossible to view Opera Private browsing history, and the closest information that you can find is DNS records but they can be cumbersome to read and won’t give you the exact pages that you visited. Instead, you’ll just get the list of domains that you visited from your PC.

Browser extensions are a simpler way to do that, but they will only hold your browsing history for a few days once you install them.
