Hades 2 Officially Arrives on Xbox and PlayStation on April 14
Hades 2 is officially expanding its reach next month. Supergiant Games confirmed that its highly anticipated action sequel is coming to PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X and S on April 14, 2026. After initially launching on PC and Nintendo Switch, the game is finally making its way to the remaining major platforms.
Fans who have been waiting to jump into the Underworld on their favorite console do not have much longer to wait.
Hades II is finally breaking console exclusivity
The original launch left many console players waiting, as it was only available on PC and Nintendo hardware. The upcoming April release changes that, bringing the complete experience to PlayStation and Xbox. The new console version includes all the post-launch patches and quality of life updates released so far.
This means new players are getting the most polished version of the game right from the start. If you play on Xbox, there is some extra good news. Hades 2 will be available on Xbox Game Pass on day one. It is also an Xbox Play Anywhere title.
This feature allows you to buy the game once and play it across your Xbox console, PC, and even through cloud streaming while keeping all your save progress. Microsoft highlighted this addition during its recent Xbox Partner Preview broadcast.
The game has a fresh protagonist and new weapons
While the first game focused on Zagreus, the sequel introduces players to his sister, Melinoë. She brings a completely different fighting style to the table. Instead of short dodges, she uses longer sprints and a magic system for powerful area attacks.
Players will also get their hands on a new set of weapons, like fast blades and a heavy axe, as they battle Cronos, the god of time. You even get to unlock animal companions to help you during your runs.
