Microsoft has released Build 29591.1000 for Windows 11 Insiders in the Experimental (Future Platforms) Channel. Not to forget, all the changes and improvement rolling out with this build is now also available for Insiders in the Canary 29500 series channel.

Windows 11 Experimental (Future Platforms) Build 29591.1000 brings Shared audio and improved Windows Update experience

Some of the changes in this build are identical to those included in Experimental (26H1) Build 28020.2134. For example, the new Experimental (Future Platforms) build also brings much-needed improvements for Windows Update experience. As a result, you can entirely skip updates during the out of box experience (OOBE).

That’s not all; you can even extend update pauses as much as you need so just to avoid experiencing the buggy ones. In case you want to learn more, make sure to check our separate article on improved Windows Update experience.

Moving on, Microsoft has also rolled out Shared audio with the Build 29591.1000. The feature uses Bluetooth LE Audio broadcast technology, which allows two people to listen to the same audio from a single Windows 11 PC at the same time. Recently, the feature also debuted for Windows 11 Insiders in the Release Preview Channel with KB5089573 update.

Last but not least, Microsoft has also updated Storage. After installing the new build, when you navigate to Settings > System > Storage, you’ll only see it when going to view temporary files. Previously, landing on the page immediately displayed a UAC prompt.

Moreover, it’s worth noting that Microsoft has also release a new Experimental (Dev) build which brings taskbar repositioning, smaller taskbar, and more. In a detailed blogpost published yesterday, the company also noted some major improvements for Start experience, which includes resizing Start menu and more.
