Mozilla has started rolling out Firefox 152.0.2 to users on the Release Channel, delivering another round of bug fixes less than a week after the release of Firefox 152.0.1.

The previous update primarily addressed stability issues, including crashes affecting some systems powered by Intel Raptor Lake processors. Firefox 152.0.2 focuses on fixing usability, performance, and compatibility problems rather than introducing new features.

Firefox 152.0.2 Fixes Language and Settings Issues

One of the fixes targets Firefox’s Settings interface. Mozilla resolved a bug that caused certain Settings section headings to display placeholder text instead of properly translated names in some languages.

The company also fixed an issue that affected users who changed Firefox’s display language. In affected installations, content shown on the New Tab page could continue appearing in the previous language rather than matching the browser’s newly selected language.

These fixes should improve the experience for multilingual users and those who regularly switch Firefox’s language settings.

MP4 Playback Regression Resolved

Firefox 152.0.2 also addresses a regression that could prevent some MP4 video files from playing correctly.

While Mozilla has not provided detailed technical information about the issue, video playback regressions can affect a wide range of websites and streaming platforms. The fix should restore compatibility for users who encountered playback failures after updating to Firefox 152.

Encryption Performance Improvements

Another notable fix targets a performance regression that affected websites performing large numbers of encryption and decryption operations simultaneously.

Mozilla specifically mentioned Proton Drive as an example of a service that could experience slower performance due to the bug. Services that rely heavily on client-side encryption may benefit from improved responsiveness after installing Firefox 152.0.2.

The update should help reduce delays and improve overall performance when handling encryption-intensive workloads inside the browser.

Available Now Through Release Channels

Firefox 152.0.2 is already available through Mozilla’s release channels and can be downloaded manually from Mozilla’s FTP servers.

Existing Firefox installations should receive the update automatically over the next several hours through the browser’s built-in update mechanism.

The latest patch arrives shortly after the launch of Firefox 152, which introduced several larger changes across the browser.

Mozilla has also recently shared a roadmap outlining features and improvements planned for future Firefox releases. While Firefox 152.0.2 focuses entirely on fixes, it serves as another example of the company’s rapid update cycle aimed at addressing issues quickly after release.

For users affected by the language, video playback, or encryption-related problems, installing Firefox 152.0.2 should provide a smoother and more reliable browsing experience. For more details, check the official Firefox 152.0.2 release notes.
