Here’s how to fix Discord voice calls not working

1. Check if Discord voice is down

First, check Discord’s status page. This matters because sometimes voice chat not working can be due to a broader Discord-side problem, which seems to be the case today. If Discord is reporting an incident, there is not much you can fix locally. Wait for the service to recover and try the voice call again.

2. Completely restart Discord

Don’t just close the window. Discord can remain running in the background.

Here’s what you should do first

1. Exit Discord completely.
2. On Windows, open Task Manager and end any Discord processes.
   
3. Restart Discord.
4. Try joining the voice call again.

Discord recommends completely quitting and restarting the client when troubleshooting voice problems.

3. Restart your router and device
