If you’re a Firefox user and curious to try chatting with DeepSeek AI, Perplexity, Grok, or Google AI Studio right from the Firefox sidebar, you’re in luck. Firefox release version now supports these options. Here’s how to enable or integrate them into the sidebar.
How to integrate Deepseek AI or Perplexity or Grok or Google Studio into Firefox
- Open the Firefox browser.
- Visit about:config.
- Tick the checkmark and click “Accept the Risk and Continue.”
- Copy and paste the preference “browser.ml.chat.provider“.
- Edit its value and enter or type https://chat.deepseek.com.
- Save it by clicking the tickmark.

Now, the DeepSeek AI chatbot is available, and you can start chatting with it right away by signing in using your login credentials.
Similarly, to add other chatbots such as Perplexity, Grok, or Google AI Studio, add respective URLs in the browser.ml.chat.provider value field.
DeepSeek is a low-cost AI model that has managed to surprise even the likes of OpenAI, Microsoft and Google Gemini. Recently, Perplexity has gained fame for its ability to provide accurate and concise answers, making it a popular choice for users seeking reliable AI-generated responses.
Firefox already supports a range of AI chatbots, including Google Gemini, ChatGPT, HuggingChat, Anthropic Claude, and Le Chat Mistral with Proofreading Prompt. Although new options may not be available as default AI chatbots in the browser, you can manually add and use them. Firefox offers this flexibility at the moment, but you need to use the Configuration Editor.
You can only add and use one at a time, so the choice is yours. Unlike the default AI chatbots available in the sidebar’s dropdown menu, these options won’t be available to choose from the dropdown in the sidebar.
In related news about Firefox, Firefox Profiles with customization and switching, similar to Chrome, are now available in Nightly. Mozilla is also testing HDR support on Windows and adding a manual tab unloading context menu option.
