AMD’s Ryzen 7 5800X3D 10th Anniversary Edition has finally arrived at US retailers, although getting one may not be as straightforward as expected. The special edition processor has appeared on Newegg, but only as part of hardware bundles rather than as a standalone purchase.

The listing, first spotted by VideoCardz, confirms that AMD’s commemorative version of the popular AM4 gaming CPU is now available in the US. However, availability appears to be much more limited than in Europe, where several German retailers are already selling the processor.

Anniversary Edition lands in the US

Newegg has listed the Ryzen 7 5800X3D 10th Anniversary Edition with a price of $349. At the moment, customers cannot buy the processor by itself, as Newegg only offers it bundled with other compatible hardware.

The retailer’s listing also confirms the model number 100-100000651POF, identifying it as the new anniversary SKU.

While the processor is difficult to find in the US, buyers in Germany appear to have a much easier time, with multiple retailers already stocking the chip.

Same specifications as the original

The 10th Anniversary Edition does not introduce any performance upgrades over the original Ryzen 7 5800X3D, retaining the same specifications, including 8 Zen 3 CPU cores, 16 threads, a 3.4 GHz base clock, up to a 4.5 GHz boost clock, 96MB of L3 cache using AMD’s 3D V-Cache technology, and a 105W TDP.

Like the original model, it does not include integrated graphics, meaning a dedicated graphics card is required. AMD also continues to ship the processor without a bundled CPU cooler.

New packaging includes Carbice Ice Pad

Although the hardware specifications remain unchanged, AMD has updated the package contents.

The 10th Anniversary Edition includes Carbice Ice Pad thermal interface material, giving buyers an additional cooling accessory that was not included with the original release.

AMD also reportedly had to re-engineer the processor for a newer 3D V-Cache stacking process because the original manufacturing method is no longer available.

In related news, AMD recently warned users about FSR driver issues affecting Windows 10. Separate testing has also suggested that the upcoming FSR 4.1 release could perform slightly slower on some RDNA 3 graphics cards in certain workloads.
