Cloud infrastructure can be rather expensive but that might change since CISPE and Microsoft started discussions on unfair software licensing issues.

These discussions are going to address Microsoft’s anti-competitive practices, so here’s what we know so far.

CISPE and Microsoft have started discussions, and the first results are expected soon

CISPE has announced that discussions with Microsoft have started, and during those discussions, they plan to address the complaints that have been filed by CISPE with the Directorate General for Competition (DG Comp).

CISPE has complained about unfair licensing for cloud infrastructure providers and their customers in Europe. The organization has stated that resolutions must be applied throughout the whole sector and made available to all customers in Europe.

Additionally, all agreements will have to be public and available for examination by third parties.

This entire process is still in the early stages, but CISPE is determined to achieve some progress in the first quarter of 2024.

This isn’t the only issue that Microsoft is facing, and it seems that Microsoft is planning a complete strategy overhaul regarding Xbox as well.

What are your thoughts on these discussions, and do you think CISPE and Microsoft will reach an agreement? Let us know in the comments!
