ARC Raiders Confirms Expedition 2 Character Wipe With Better Long-term Rewards

After a recent ARC Raiders update introduced an escalating anti-cheat system, Embark Studios is moving forward with the next character wipe event. The studio has now confirmed details for Expedition 2, the second progression reset designed to give players a fresh start while offering permanent progression benefits.

Expedition 2 schedule is now locked in

Expeditions are optional character resets that allow players to restart with a new Raider in exchange for long-term upgrades that stack across future events. The first Expedition launched in December after a short delay, and while participation was solid, Embark acknowledged that the requirements felt too demanding compared to the rewards after player pushback regarding the reward system.

Expedition 2 now has a confirmed schedule. Sign-ups open on February 25, and players have until March 1 to opt in. Once the opt-in window closes, participants begin the Expedition with a fresh character and work toward permanent progression rewards.

Permanent rewards for participating

Players who complete the Expedition unlock permanent upgrades that carry over into future playthroughs.

Cosmetics:

  • Patchwork outfit (evolved)
  • Scrappy cosmetics
  • Expedition Indicator icon that upgrades with each completed Expedition

Bonuses:

  • Stash space increased from 12 to 24 slots
  • Up to 5 Skill Points, including catch-up points from the first Expedition
  • Up to 85 total Skill Points for players completing their second Expedition

Consecutive rewards that stack:

Players who participate in multiple Expeditions receive improved bonuses.

  • XP boost increased from 5 percent to 10 percent
  • Scrappy materials boost increased from 6 percent to 12 percent
  • Repair value increased from 60 percent to 70 percent

Outside of Expedition-specific changes, Embark confirmed that several progression systems remain unaffected by the wipe. Cosmetics, Raider Deck progress, unlocked map regions, leaderboard placement, Trials, Codex entries, Raider Tokens, and the Trophy Display Project all carry over without interruption.

Players who missed Skill Points during the first Expedition also get another chance to catch up. Missing points can now be claimed by exiting Expedition 2 with 300,000 Stash Value per point, a significant reduction from the 1 million Stash Value requirement used previously.

Embark also addressed a recent issue where no map conditions were appearing in-game, confirming that the problem has already been resolved.

With improved rewards, easier progression catch-up, and stronger anti-cheat systems now in place, ARC Raiders continues to refine its progression model ahead of future updates.
