Good news for OneDrive and SharePoint users! Autodesk AutoCAD has now been integrated into SharePoint and OneDrive.

Those users who save DWG files in SharePoint and OneDrive accounts can now easily open and edit them with Autodesk solutions including the AutoCAD mobile app, AutoCAD desktop application and the new AutoCAD web app.

The AutoCAD web app basically enables users to utilize AutoCAD on any computer in order to save drafts and design ideas.

You can use the new AutoCAD web app to open DWG files directly from SharePoint or OneDrive. Microsoft has already started rolling out OneDrive integration technology. The company plans to release support for SharePoint in the coming weeks.

You just need to select the item and navigate to the toolbar’s open menu in order to open AutoCAD files in Autodesk applications. 

The OneDrive team explains the fact that computer-aided design (CAD) drawings are an integral part of the workflow for most of the companies working in engineering, architecture, and manufacturing. 

The company says that the new features offer enterprise-grade compliance, industry-leading mobile and desktop applications, and innovative collaboration capabilities to SharePoint and OneDrive.

You can open your files without AutoCAD

Some of the users might not have AutoCAD installed on their systems. You don’t need to worry in that case as you can use the AutoCAD web app for opening files in your existing web browser.

It is worth mentioning that Microsoft plans to integrate a bundle of new features very soon. In future, the tech giant plans to enhance collaboration with Autodesk. This means more exciting new features coming your way later this year.
