ChatGPT Is Finally Getting Better at Remembering Your Past Chats, Thanks to Improved Memory
Not available to free users yet
If you ever felt like ChatGPT is not as good in terms of finding or remembering your past chats, there’s some good news coming from OpenAI.
Usually, when you want to jump back into a conversation or prompt ChatGPT to pull context from previous chats, the AI assistant sort of struggles as of now. But that shouldn’t be a problem going forward, according to OpenAI.
The latest ChatGPT update brings improved memory for Plus and Pro plan users
The AI giant has officially rolled out a massive update for ChatGPT that now supports advanced history search. In the latest release notes spotted by Bleeping Computer, OpenAI has confirmed that ChatGPT now supports “Improved memory for finding details from past chats.” But it’s not available for those on the free plan just yet.
The release note also confirms that the feature, which improved memory, is now rolling out to ChatGPT Plus and Pro plan users globally. So, what’s changed exactly, you may ask, right? OpenAI notes:
When reference chat history is enabled, ChatGPT can now more reliably find specific details from your past chats when you ask. Any past chat used to answer your question now appears as a source so you can open and review the original context.
This hints that whenever you next ask ChatGPT to pull specific details from your past chats, it will do so reliably. As far as company news is concerned, this isn’t the only change the company has introduced. OpenAI is also testing Agora, which reportedly is a cross-platform feature for ChatGPT. Moreover, the company is also taking on Google Translate with ChatGPT Translate.
