Claude is inching closer to image generation on its own. As announced by Anthropic, the AI assistant can now generate interactive charts, diagrams, and visualizations directly in chat, which allows users to explore topics in real time. Anthropic says that the feature is currently in beta, but it’s on by default for all plan types.

Claude adds interactive charts and visualizations in Chat

Unlike Claude’s permanent artifacts, documents, and tools meant to be shared or downloaded, the new visuals are temporary and context-driven. These diagrams are visible inline and adapt as the conversation evolves. You can ask Claude to visualize anything, from compound interest curves to the periodic table, and then click or adjust elements for deeper insight. It’s a more immediate, hands-on way to understand complex ideas.

Claude also decides when a visual might help, though users can prompt it directly with queries like “draw this as a diagram” or “visualize how this might change over time.” Once generated, the visuals can be modified or expanded, which creates a feedback loop that evolves with the discussion.

Anthropic says that the launch of the new feature builds on recent improvements to Claude’s responses. Recipes now come formatted with ingredients and steps, weather queries include visuals, and integrations with apps like Figma, Canva, and Slack can be accessed directly within chat.

With the new feature, Anthropic appears to be aiming for richer, more interactive conversations that go beyond text. It eventually gives users multiple ways to engage with information provided by Claude.

Speaking of AI, let’s not forget that Microsoft has also unveiled Copilot Health to help analyze wearable and medical data. Microsoft says that the new feature is useful for people to better understand their health before speaking with a medical professional, rather than replacing doctors. Do note that Microsoft is late to the party, as last year, Anthropic and OpenAI also launched something similar.
