Users will finally be able to get Copilot to draft emails in their writing style on Outlook, starting February 2024, according to the latest entries in the Microsoft 365 Roadmap.

Microsoft announced Copilot coming to Outlook earlier this year when the Redmond-based tech giant revealed that it would integrate the AI tool into all of its Microsoft 365 apps, and with the announcement, the company also unveiled some of Copilot’s capabilities on Outlook.

Not only users can search specific data and files from emails on Outlook with Copilot, but the AI tool will learn how to emulate users’ style of writing, and it will employ that style when drafting emails. This way, users will only have to edit the emails, before sending them.

Microsoft has been teasing this feature since September, and the Redmond-based tech giant placed all the bets on it, as it could potentially change the way users will write emails on Outlook from now on.

Copilot will be on the classic Outlook and the new Outlook, as well

Even though classic Outlook will most likely be discontinued by 2025, Microsoft will still update it with new features, and Copilot is no exception.

We already knew the AI tool was coming to this Outlook version, but now the tech giant is making it clear that AI-based email composing will also exist as a capability on classic Outlook.outlook copilot

According to the Roadmap, users will be able to rely on Copilot for email composing starting in February 2024.

If this is not good enough, then users should know that the classic Outlook will also get a Copilot coaching feature, which will help users adjust the tone and the style of each email.

Copilot combines the power of LLMs and Outlook data to help you do more. Copilot coaches you on how to best get your message across and you can adjust the tone and length of your message.
