Fable May Offer a 60FPS Mode on Both XBOX Series Consoles
Fable could potentially run at 60FPS on XBOX Series X and XBOX Series S, according to wording spotted on the game’s page. However, Microsoft and Playground Games have not confirmed the game’s final performance targets.
The wording has sparked speculation that Fable could offer a 60FPS option on both current XBOX consoles. That would be particularly notable for XBOX Series S, given the game’s detailed visuals and large open-world environments.
Fable’s 60FPS support remains unconfirmed
For now, the information should not be treated as confirmation of a dedicated 60FPS mode.
XBOX game pages sometimes include general descriptions of console features and capabilities rather than specifications tied directly to an individual game. As a result, references to 60FPS could describe what the hardware supports rather than what Fable will actually deliver.
There was also reportedly an earlier post that mentioned both 30FPS and 60FPS modes. However, that information now appears difficult or impossible to locate, making it harder to verify exactly what Playground Games plans for launch.
If Fable does offer a 60FPS mode on XBOX Series S, it would be an ambitious technical achievement considering the scale and visual quality Playground Games has shown so far.
Microsoft and Playground Games have yet to provide definitive details about resolution, graphics modes, or frame-rate targets for XBOX Series X and Series S.
Gamescom 2026 brought plenty of XBOX news
The possible Fable performance details arrive during a busy week for gaming announcements.
Gamescom 2026 delivered numerous major announcements and trailers, alongside four new XBOX Game Pass reveals.
Microsoft also shared more details about Gears of War: E-Day, which will become the first game to use NVIDIA RTX Mega Geometry, a new ray-tracing technology aimed at delivering more detailed geometry in supported games.
Until Microsoft or Playground Games publishes official performance specifications, Fable running at 60FPS on both XBOX Series X and Series S remains a possibility rather than a confirmed feature.
