Fallout: New Vegas and Fallout 3 Remake/Remaster Reportedly Planned for PS5
Amazon's countdown timer has nothing to do with Fallout 3 remaster
A classic chapter of PlayStation’s PS3 era may soon be ready for a modern comeback. According to a report from Windows Central, Fallout: New Vegas is being prepped for modern platforms, alongside the previously leaked Fallout 3 remaster. While no release window has been shared, fans can finally hope to see both classics on PS5.
Reliable leaker NateTheHate had previously suggested that Fallout 3’s remaster is on the cards, adding weight to the speculation. The leak emerged from Microsoft’s internal documents submitted during its legal battle with the Federal Trade Commission over the Activision Blizzard acquisition, giving the rumors more credibility.
At present, the only way to play Fallout: New Vegas on PS5 is via a PS Plus Premium subscription using cloud streaming for PS3 games. That may change soon, as the remaster could bring the game natively to modern consoles. Which studios are handling these remasters remains unclear; Fallout 3 was originally developed by Bethesda, while New Vegas was the only entry developed by Obsidian Entertainment.
With fans call for for updated visuals and smoother performance, the PS5 versions could mark a major revival for these beloved RPGs. While exact details remain scarce, the details coming out from Windows Central and popular Xbox insider NateTheHate, it appears that the remasters are more than just idle speculation.
