Forza Horizon 6 requires up to 160GB of storage on PC

Forza Horizon 6 is now available for preload on Steam and the Microsoft Store ahead of its official May 19, 2026 launch. The game has already dominated headlines this week after leaked copies surfaced online and players began testing performance early.

The preload also revealed the game’s massive storage requirements. PC players will reportedly need at least 160GB of free space, while Xbox consoles require around 130GB. That makes Forza Horizon 6 the largest entry in the franchise so far.

Leaked benchmarks suggest strong PC optimization

Despite the large install size, early benchmark reports from users running leaked builds suggest the game performs surprisingly well on modern hardware. Some players tested the title at 4K settings and reported stable frame rates with relatively low stuttering.

NVIDIA has already released a game-ready driver update for Forza Horizon 6 with support for DLSS Multi-Frame Generation. AMD and Intel are also expected to release optimized drivers before launch day.

Developers reportedly issuing hardware bans

The leak situation has become increasingly serious over the past few days. Reports claim developers already started banning players who modified leaked versions of the game.

Players caught running unauthorized leaked copies could also face hardware bans, which would block future access on the affected system. Similar enforcement measures appeared earlier with leaked builds of other major Xbox titles.

Another major game leak hits the industry

Interestingly, the Forza Horizon 6 leak arrived during the same week Subnautica 2 reportedly suffered a similar situation involving unofficial game files circulating online.

The incidents once again highlight growing concerns around preload security and unauthorized early access distribution before official launch dates.
