Microsoft’s newest Edge Game Assist tool is an in-game browser that shows up in a smaller side window right in the game. It was made available to Insiders last November, and according to the Redmond-based tech giant, the feedback was positive.
Now, the tech giant is making Edge Game Assist available to all Edge users, stating that they won’t need to install special software or change their default browser.
The tool will first be available in the Edge Beta 132 and will be made available to the rest of the users in the following days.
Those interested in it must go to Settings, use the Search box to look for the Game Assist option, install the widget, and open the tool anytime by opening Game Bar with Wind+G.
When it was first previewed to users, the Edge Game Assist tool was available in video games such as Baldur’s Gate 3, Diablo IV, Fortnite, Hellblade II: Senua’s Saga, League of Legends, Minecraft, Overwatch 2, Roblox, and Valorant. However, Microsoft is adding more games, including Dragon Age: The Veilguard, Indiana Jones and the Great Circle, Marvel Rivals, Metaphor: ReFantazio, and S.T.A.L.K.E.R. II: Heart of Chornobyl.
Microsoft says users should be excited about the future of Game Assist. The tool will be improved with several enhancements to make it run better, and the company will also add support for extensions, such as ad blockers.
Plus, the tool will also support more shortcuts soon, including those for browser control, right-click context menu, improved picture-in-picture experience, and more.
