Gears of War: E-Day XBOX Controller Reportedly Launching Soon

A Gears of War: E-Day XBOX controller could arrive soon, with a new report claiming Microsoft has prepared a limited-edition design known internally as Storm King.

Storm King controller could cost $89.99

Microsoft reportedly plans to launch the special-edition controller alongside the growing promotion for Gears of War: E-Day.

According to Dealabs, the Storm King controller will cost £84.99 in the UK and $89.99 in the United States.

The report claims Microsoft could officially announce the accessory within the next couple of weeks.

The controller reportedly uses a black and red design

Dealabs says it has already seen the controller and describes it as one of the more impressive XBOX designs released recently.

The shell reportedly features a cracked black-and-red pattern inspired by volcanic rock. The left analog stick remains black, while red covers much of the central area.

Microsoft also reportedly uses red for the D-pad, XBOX button, View, Menu, and Share buttons.

The Crimson Omen logo, which combines the familiar cog and skull imagery from the Gears franchise, reportedly sits prominently in the center.

Several buttons also get red accents

The right analog stick and X button reportedly use red accents as well.

Meanwhile, the A, B, and Y buttons remain black, creating a stronger contrast with the red sections.

The darker visual style appears designed to match the atmosphere and visual identity of Gears of War: E-Day.

Microsoft has not announced it yet

Microsoft has not officially confirmed the Storm King controller, so official images, release details, and availability remain unknown.

If the reported announcement window proves accurate, Microsoft should reveal more details soon.

In other XBOX news, five games were removed from the Microsoft Store, while XBOX Free Play Days have been announced.

Microsoft is also working on more platform features, with the XBOX CEO confirming that Platinum-style achievements are coming.
