NVIDIA's GeForce Now app is now available for Steam Deck
Download it now from official website
The GeForce Now app is now officially available on the Steam Deck, unlocking cloud access to over 2,200 games. First teased during CES, the native app gives users an easy way to stream titles across platforms like Steam, Epic Games Store, Xbox Game Pass for PC, Ubisoft, and Battle.net.
Perks of having the GeForce Now app on the Steam Deck
Even for games that already run on the Deck, streaming has its perks. The GeForce Now app supports advanced features like HDR, DLSS 4, and NVIDIA Reflex on compatible games. Since everything runs in the cloud, the Deck only needs to handle the video stream. That means more battery life, too.
NVIDIA says streaming through GeForce NOW could stretch battery usage by nearly 50% compared to running games locally. That’s a big win for handheld users. NVIDIA has also shared a guide on how to install GeForce NOW on the Steam Deck.
There’s also the benefit of running games that wouldn’t otherwise work on the Steam Deck. Titles like Oblivion Remastered, Monster Hunter Wilds, Expedition 33, and Microsoft Flight Simulator 2024 are all playable with max settings thanks to the service.
Not to forget, Steam Deck’s docked mode also adds flexibility. Players can connect to a TV and stream the same games on a bigger screen. A free GeForce NOW tier exists for testing, though it comes with queues and hour-long session limits. Right now, NVIDIA is offering a six-month Performance plan for $30. After that, it returns to the standard $50.
