1. Make sure you’re running as administrator

  1. Press the Start button > open Settings.
  2. Go to Accounts > click Family & other users.family and other people you do not have sufficient privileges for configuring connection properties
  3. Select Change account type.
  4. Under Account type, choose Administrator > click OK.
  5. Check to see if this changed anything.

2. Create a new user with administrator privilege

  1. Press the Start button > open Settings.
  2. Go to Accounts > click Family & other users.family and other people you do not have sufficient privileges for configuring connection properties
  3. Select Add someone else on this PC.
  4. Choose I don’t have this person’s sign-in information.
  5. Click Add a user without a Microsoft account.
  6. Enter the required information: user name, password, security questions > click Next.
  7. Then you need to set it to have administrator privilege > press the Start button > open Settings.
  8. Press the Start button > open Settings.
  9. Go to Accounts > click Family & other users.
  10. Select Change account type.
  11. Under Account type, choose Administrator > click OK.
  12. Reboot the PC and log back in with the newly created account to see if it fixed the issue.

3. Add user to the administrator group

  1. Right-click on the Start button > open Computer Management.
