Patch Tuesday is here, and the new update is upon us. These types of updates usually address security issues, but sometimes they can bring certain improvements.
That’s the case with this update, so let’s take a closer look and see what improvements this update offers.
The latest update lets you edit your phone photos more easily
KB5035853 update was just released, and according to Microsoft’s documentation, it doesn’t offer anything new or exciting, besides addressing various security issues.
However, XDA Developers discovered a new feature that allows users to edit phone photos with the Snipping Tool.
To use this feature, you need to connect your phone to your PC via the Phone Link feature. Once connected, all new photos from your phone will appear as notifications on your PC.
You can even click the notification to further edit the photo with the Snipping Tool. The update also renamed Phone Link in Settings app to Mobile devices, to avoid confusion with the Phone Link app.
Lastly, the update added support for USB4 version 2, which doubles the current USB speed.
Overall, this is a useful feature that might come in handy to some users, so if you already got the update, be sure to give it a try.
Not all updates install as smoothly, and many reported that KB5036080 installation is stuck, while KB5035849 refuses to install, but that doesn’t seem to be the case with this update.
