Kinetic Publishing Reveals 5 XBOX Play Anywhere Games

Kinetic Publishing has revealed five upcoming Xbox games scheduled for 2027 and 2028, with every title supporting Xbox Play Anywhere across console and PC.

Kinetic Games, the studio behind Phasmophobia, is expanding its business with a new publishing label called Kinetic Publishing. The company has now detailed its first five games, as TrueAchievements reports.

All five titles will support Xbox Play Anywhere. Players can buy a supported game once and access it on Xbox Series X|S and Xbox PC.

Contact Protocol launches in spring 2027

Contact Protocol is a sci-fi game scheduled for spring 2027.

Players serve aboard the starship Pale Horse and inspect ships traveling through the area. You will need to determine whether each vessel has peaceful intentions or represents a potential threat.

If a ship looks dangerous, players can choose to destroy it using torpedoes.

The game will launch on Xbox Series X|S and Xbox PC with Xbox Play Anywhere support.

Crescent County arrives in summer 2027

Crescent County is an open-world witch-tech adventure planned for summer 2027.

The game combines racing, deliveries, exploration, and romance. Players travel through the world using customizable motorbrooms while visiting shops and upgrading their rides.

Crescent County will also support Xbox Series X|S, Xbox PC, and Xbox Play Anywhere.

Precognition brings sci-fi horror in 2028

Precognition is scheduled for spring 2028 and comes from Sam Barlow.

The sci-fi horror game focuses on time travel and prescience. Its story explores what happens when people interfere with the flow of time and deal with the consequences of knowing future events.

Precognition will launch for Xbox Series X|S and Xbox PC.

Shellbound puts players on the back of a snail

Shellbound is a Metroidvania planned for summer 2028.

The game mixes platforming, exploration, and combat while gradually opening new areas of its world. Players will uncover the history and lore of an ancient civilization as they progress.

Its unusual premise puts players in control of a parasite traveling through a living world on the back of a snail.

Aether Wizard Life combines RPG combat, farming, and dating

Aether Wizard Life will close out the currently announced lineup in autumn 2028.

The game mixes action-RPG combat and platforming with exploration, town building, farming, shopkeeping, and dating mechanics. It will also offer extensive character customization.

Kinetic Publishing describes the game as having a Ghibli-inspired visual style.

Like the other announced titles, Aether Wizard Life will support Xbox Series X|S, Xbox PC, and Xbox Play Anywhere.

In other XBOX news, the XBOX Free Play Days lineup has been revealed, while a new XBOX update adds cloud save restore and lets you play while games download.

Meanwhile, the XBOX CEO recently playtested The Elder Scrolls 6 and teased the game’s title.
