LowLevelFatalError How to Fix This Gaming Error in 5 Steps

LowLevelFatalError occurs in many games, including Atomic Heart, Jedi Survivor, Dark and Darker, Mechwarrior 5, Borderlands 3, and many Unreal Engine titles.

What causes the LowLevelFatalError?

In most cases, this issue is caused by corrupted or missing game files or problems with your graphics card driver. Game optimization software can also cause this issue.

What can I do to fix LowLevelFatalError?

Before we try to fix this issue, try restarting your PC and reinstalling Visual C++ Redistributables. Also, disable any overlays or always keep your game up to date.

1. Verify the integrity of game files

  1. Launch the Steam app.
  2. On your Steam launcher, click Library.Steam Library
  3. Go to the game, right-click on it and select Properties.
  4. Locate and click Local Files from the left pane. Verify Integrity of games files

2. Disable game optimization

  1. Click on Search and type GeForce experience.
  2. Click on the Gear icon.
  3. From the left pane, select Games.LowLevelFatalError - Automatically optimize newly added games
  4. Remove the checkmark beside Automatically optimize newly added games.

3. Update the graphics driver

  1. Press Windows + R to open the Run window.
  2. Type devmgmt.msc and press Enter to open Device Manager.Device Manager RUN COMMAND
  3. Go to Display adapters and expand it.
  4. Right-click on the NVIDIA GeForce and select Update driverUpdate driver - Lowlevelfatal error
  5. On the next page, select Search automatically for driversUpdate driver 2

  4. Choose Windows 7 from the drop-down.Compatibility Mode

5. Modify the Launch Options

  1. Open the Steam app.Steam Library
  2. Click Library, go to the game, right-click on it and click Properties.
  3. Go to General, click Set Launch options, and type -force -dx11Set launch options
  4. Click OK to save the changes.
  5. Click Close to close the Properties window.
