Meta's Facebook Gets AI Mode & Other Smart Creative Tools
Meta has announced a bunch of new AI features for Facebook that completely overhaul how you search, create, and share content across the platform.
Facebook gets its own AI Mode
Among the biggest additions is the AI Mode. Just to be clear, it’s not Google’s AI Mode. It is a new search experience powered by Meta AI and its new Muse Spark model family. Rather than sending users to a page filled with links, AI Mode in Facebook will surface answers based on publicly shared conversations, recommendations, videos, and opinions from Groups, Reels, and other content across Meta’s apps.

Meta says Muse Spark is designed to help AI Mode better understand context, trends, and community sentiment, which allows you to find information through real-world experiences rather than generic search results.
Looking for travel advice, restaurant recommendations, fitness tips, or opinions on the latest gadgets? Meta wants users to ask Facebook directly and receive answers shaped by the conversations already happening across its platform.
New AI creative tools
Alongside the new search experience, Meta is introducing a slew of new AI-powered creative tools. You will start seeing optional camera roll suggestions that automatically generate collages and stylized video montages based on recent memories, such as gatherings with friends or recent trips. Meta says these suggestions remain entirely opt-in and can be disabled at any time.

Facebook Stories and profile pictures are also getting new AI editing presets. You can virtually change outfits, hairstyles, and accessories, while sports fans can create team-inspired looks through a new “Wear It” option available inside the AI Edit menu.

With Muse Spark now embedded directly into Facebook, Meta is narrowing the gap with AI-powered search rivals like Google, OpenAI, and Perplexity by transforming its vast social graph into an answer engine. Not to forget, Meta also recently announced that its AI now uses height and bone structure to spot underage accounts on Instagram and Facebook.
