The COVID-19 pandemic has revolutionized how people work, and over the past year, remote work has taken the stage necessitating the introduction of applications that support collaboration. Microsoft has been at the forefront of ensuring users stay ahead by upgrading Microsoft 365 and Office 2021.

Co-author on documents

As opposed to in-person meetings where creating together is easier, virtual meetings require a lot of support. Microsoft has ensured that all Office and Microsoft 365 users are able to do so through their app. Through their numerous collaboration features, real-time co-authoring has been incorporated into the applications. It makes it less cumbersome as those working on the same document need not send additional emails as once a file is updated, everyone is notified in real-time.

Microsoft Teams on board

Microsoft has made numerous upgrades to the Teams App, making it easier for everyone to plan and manage tasks. The Word Cloud poll feature recently launched keeps audiences engaged and ensures continuity without having to leave the app. Microsoft Teams comes with Windows 11 and has now been added to Microsoft 365 and Office 2021 so that the features can extend to macOS and Windows 10 users too.

Tailored user experience and more features

As you may be aware, Microsoft has been on a roll updating apps to align with Windows 11 design. Microsoft 365 and Office 2021 have not been left out as they are also getting a redesign. The visual update is designed to help users focus more on their work. The theme has a neutral colour palette, softer window corners and much more.

Previously, some features were only available on Microsoft 365, but they are also now available on Office 2021. Upgrading to the latest version allows users to access a pool of more creative content and premium features such as advanced grammar suggestions.

Office 2013 will not be supported on Windows 11, so now is a better time than any other to upgrade to Microsoft 365 and Office 2021.
