Dozens of new AMD chipsets have been added to the list of supported CPUs for Windows 11 24H2, meaning OEMs can manufacture Windows 11 devices with the latest chips.
In the official document, Microsoft added the powerful AMD Ryzen 8000 series, which includes over 18 CPUs released recently.
The Redmond-based tech giant hasn’t added the Ryzen 9000 series, unveiled last year. Nor has the 300 series made the list. However, we expect that to happen later this year, when Microsoft is set to unveil Windows 11’s next major patch.
You can go ahead and purchase an AMD-based system without any worries, as support for these chipsets will eventually be added.
On the other hand, Microsoft recommends that OEMs do not manufacture new Windows devices with older Intel CPUs but instead opt for the newer generations.
