Microsoft has released a new batch of Windows Recovery and Dynamic Update packages alongside this month’s Patch Tuesday rollout for Windows 10 and Windows 11, as Neowin writes.

Earlier this week, the company pushed KB5087544 for Windows 10 and KB5089549 for Windows 11. Microsoft also updated the official Media Creation Tool with the latest cumulative updates integrated into installation media.

Dynamic Updates Improve Windows Deployment

Microsoft says the new Dynamic Updates are designed to improve the Windows deployment process by applying updates to existing Windows images before installation or upgrade procedures begin.

The company says these packages also help preserve Language Packs and Features on Demand during upgrades. Microsoft additionally noted that VBScript currently remains available as a Feature on Demand in Windows 11 version 24H2.

Windows 11 Recovery Environment Updates

Several new Safe OS Dynamic Updates were released for Windows 11 builds. KB5089591 targets Windows 11 version 26H1 and upgrades the Windows Recovery Environment to version 10.0.28000.2110.

Windows 11 versions 24H2 and 25H2 received KB5089593, bringing WinRE to version 10.0.26100.8455. Meanwhile, Windows 11 version 23H2 received KB5087594, which upgrades WinRE to version 10.0.22621.7077.

Windows 10 Recovery Updates Released

Microsoft also pushed multiple Recovery Environment updates for supported Windows 10 releases.

KB5087593 updates WinRE to version 10.0.19041.7290 for Windows 10 versions 21H2 and 22H2. KB5087592 targets Windows 10 version 1809 and Windows Server 2019, bringing WinRE to version 10.0.17763.8751.

Older systems running Windows 10 version 1607 and Windows Server 2016 received KB5087590, which updates the recovery environment to version 10.0.14393.9138.

Updates Install Automatically Through Windows Update

Microsoft says both Setup updates and Recovery updates will download and install automatically through Windows Update.

The rollout arrives as some users continue reporting installation issues tied to the Windows 11 update KB5089549. Reports remain limited for now, but complaints have started appearing shortly after the Patch Tuesday deployment began.
