Microsoft has announced significant performance improvements with the release of Edge 134, setting a new benchmark for speed and responsiveness in web browsing.
Edge 134 boasts a 3% to 9% improvement in overall performance, as measured by the Speedometer 3.0 benchmark. This industry-standard tool evaluates browser responsiveness in real-world scenarios, highlighting Edge’s advancements in speed optimization.
Between Edge 133 and 134, users can expect 1.7% faster navigation times, 2% faster startup times, and 5% to 7% improvement in web page responsiveness.
These enhancements are derived from field telemetry, representing real-world web usage across diverse hardware and websites.
In a blog post, Microsoft says these gains are thanks to its unique approach to optimizing speed and refining the Chromium rendering engine within Edge. Features like sleeping tabs and startup boost continue to play a pivotal role in enhancing performance.
The Redmond-based tech giant recently released the latest version of Edge, 135. The patch has introduced many new features to the browser, including trending suggestions and usage data sync.
