Microsoft has announced a new Surface Laptop 5G for business users, and it’ll be available soon. The new laptop device, powered by Intel’s Core Ultra Series 2 processor, starts shipping August 26 in the US.

The updated Surface Laptop joins the company’s growing lineup of Copilot+ PCs, designed to support AI-powered workflows, 5G connectivity, and enterprise-grade management.

This Surface Laptop 5G packs a 13.8-inch display, six adaptive antennas, and a 40+ TOPS NPU to handle AI tasks locally. Microsoft says the antenna system adapts in real time based on how you’re holding the device or moving through different networks.

Not to forget, a layered body structure also helps radio signals pass through while keeping things sturdy. You’ll find both NanoSIM and eSIM options here, tested with over 100 carriers in more than 50 countries.

Microsoft says the new Surface is built with business in mind. IT admins can pre-configure eSIMs remotely and use tools like Windows Autopilot for zero-touch setup.

That’s not all; the Surface Management Portal inside Intune offers full control over performance, compliance, and device health. Microsoft’s Security Copilot also plugs into this setup, helping teams detect threats and respond quickly.

While the 5G model ships in late August, Microsoft has already opened availability for the new 12-inch Surface Pro and 13-inch Surface Laptop starting yesterday. Business customers can order directly or through partners like Verizon Business, which will also begin stocking devices in select stores soon.

Microsoft is once again urging customers to move off Windows 10 before support ends on October 14, 2025, and adopt AI-ready Surface Copilot+ PCs with features like Recall, Click to Do, and natural-language search.
