Microsoft will enhance the new version of Outlook for Windows with a new feature called “2-click view” for encrypted emails.
This means that before you can open an encrypted email, you need to click twice to confirm that you want to see it. This helps keep your email secure by ensuring only you can open encrypted messages.
Announced in a recent entry to the Microsoft 365 Roadmap, the Redmond-based tech giant says admins can set this up so that everyone has to confirm before accessing these secure emails.
Here’s what the entry says:
New Outlook for Windows will now support 2-click view for encrypted emails. This feature enables admins to require user confirmation before allowing access to encrypted emails. #newoutlookforwindows
It’s an extra layer of protection to keep sensitive information safe. Starting in April, it will be generally available in the New Outlook for Windows.
In more recent news, Microsoft will enhance Outlook for Mobile with delivery and read receipts for Android, and iOS devices, allowing senders to see if their emails have been read.
