Here’s how to fix black screen on GameStream

1. Add Remote Desktop

Adding a Remote Desktop solves the issue for quite a few users. We described the method below.

  1. Open GeForce Experience and select Settings.
  2. Click on Shield and select GameStream.
  3. Select Add and choose your main hard drive.
  4. Go to Windows, and then System32.
  5. Run mstsc.exe.

2. Force to stream at 1080p60 resolution

Usually, a different resolution solves a video issue. Follow the steps below to try this solution.

  1. Open the Nvidia game app.
  2. Go to Settings and select GameStream PCs.
  3. Select your PC and go to Show advanced options and click on HQ.
  4. Change the resolution to 1080p60.

3. Reinstall GeForce Experience

A simple reinstallation of GeForceExperience might remove the bug. The following steps below will show you how to reinstall GFE.

  1. Uninstall GeForce Experience from your device.
  2. Close all the Nvidia services and containers that still run.
  3. Delete entirely the Nvidia directory at “C: > Program Files > NVIDIA Corporation”.
  4. Fresh install the latest GeForce Experience.

Also, if you reinstall GeForce Experience, the Nvidia driver will not be affected in any way. So, this method is safe as it doesn’t affect your drivers.
