NVIDIA Rumored to Reuse RTX 3060 Amid RTX 5050 Uncertainty
NVIDIA may bring RTX 3060 back in June 2026
NVIDIA may be rethinking its budget GPU strategy for 2026, as new reports suggest delays to the upcoming RTX 5050 could bring the older RTX 3060 back into production. The move points to potential supply or production challenges affecting newer architectures.
According to a leak from MEGAsizeGPU, the GeForce RTX 5050, including a rumored 9GB variant, no longer targets a launch around Computex. Its release window now remains unclear, with no confirmed timeline.
RTX 3060 could return to market
At the same time, NVIDIA could reintroduce the GeForce RTX 3060 with 12GB of GDDR6 memory. The card may return as early as June 2026, reportedly using Samsung’s 8nm process, the same node used during its original production cycle.
Why RTX 3060 still makes sense
The RTX 3060 still offers competitive specs for the entry-level segment. Its 12GB of VRAM and 192-bit memory bus give it an advantage over a potential RTX 5050 configuration, especially if newer cards rely on tighter memory setups or more expensive GDDR7 supply chains.
This shift suggests NVIDIA may use Ampere as a stopgap to stabilize the lower-end GPU market. Reusing existing designs could help avoid delays tied to newer architectures while maintaining availability in the budget segment.
NVIDIA remains silent
NVIDIA has not confirmed any of these details and declined to comment on the rumors. Still, the reports align with a broader trend of companies revisiting older, proven hardware to manage costs and supply constraints.
In other news, Pragmata is bundled with select RTX 50 series GPUs, adding extra value to upcoming high-end offerings.
