If you’re a gamer, you probably rely on Razer Cortex software, but what if Razer Cortex is not working? In this guide, we’re going to show you how to fix this issue with ease.

What can I do if Razer Cortex is not working?

1. Update the software

  1. Press the Windows key + S and type microsoft store. Select Microsoft Store from the list.

  3. Next, locate Razer Cortex on the list and click the Update button next to it.

  4. If the update button isn’t showing, wait for a few seconds.

If the Razer Cortex is not opening, there are likely bugs that are interfering with it, but that can be fixed with a quick update.

2. Run the software as administrator

  1. Locate Razer Cortex on your PC.
  2. Right-click it and choose Run as administrator.
  3. Wait for the software to launch.

This is a simple solution, and it can help if Razer Cortex is not launching games.

3. Install Microsoft Edge WebView2

  1. Visit the Microsoft Edge WebView2 download page.
  2. Click on the Download button for the Evergreen Bootstrapper.
  3. Once downloaded, run the setup file to install it.
  4. Check if the problem is gone.

4. Check if the necessary services are running

  1. Press Windows key + R and enter services.msc.
  2. Next, locate the Gamescanner service and double-click it.
  3. Set the Startup type to Automatic and click on Start to start the service.
  4. Click Apply and OK to save changes.

After doing that, Unable to add this game message in Razer Cortex should be gone.

5. Modify the appsettings file

  1. Exit Razer Cortex completely. This means closing it from the system tray as well.
  2. Press the Windows key + S and type notepad. Choose Run as administrator.
  3. Next, go to File and choose Open.
  4. Go to the Razer Cortex installation directory. By default it should be: C:\Program Files (x86)\Razer\Razer Cortex
  5. Delete the following entries: “DealsModule”, “ImageAdjustModule”, and “SpaceRadarModule”.
     
  6. Save changes.

If Razer Cortex is not working in most cases you just need to update it or run it with administrative privileges to fix it.
