Xbox’s new console might be coming by the end of 2024, and Microsoft should make an announcement about it in the next months, as Xbox News for Koreans posted on X (formerly known as Twitter) that Microsoft’s new Xbox Dev Kit (XDK) console was certified National Radio Research Agency in Korea on March 18, allowing developers to use it to create new games.
This means video game developers need to have access to the new console so that they can build their games to suit its architecture.
At the Xbox Business update, Phil Spencer said that the future of Xbox looks bright and that Microsoft is preparing a handheld console that will be the biggest generational leap for an Xbox console ever.
We’re also invested in the next-generation roadmap, and what we’re focused on there is delivering the largest technical leap you will have ever seen in a hardware generation. Which makes it better for players and better for creators and the visions that they’re building.

As with all new consoles, the new Xbox will be released around the winter holiday season, most likely at the end of November, or December, so by Christmas 2024, we should all get our hands on it.
The new Xbox Dev Kit has a different model number compared to the one used for the Xbox Series S, Xbox Series X, and other Xbox consoles, so this pretty much confirms that a new console is coming soon.
The Redmond-based tech giant is set to release a new version of the Xbox Series S console, most probably in June. The new console, titled Ellewood, comes with bigger storage, and some new enhancements, but it will mostly keep its current capabilities.
So, in the end, with a new console coming later this year, is it worth spending money on a new version of an existing console, or just going all the way for the new device? What do you think?
