Fancy a game of solitaire? If so, you should know that the latest Microsoft Solitaire Tri-Peaks from 9/16/2023 appears to be… quite the challenge even on Easy mode. And when we say challenge, we mean that it was unsolvable.

This game of solitaire has three triangled columns of cards that you need to solve within a certain number of steps has proved to be a real challenge for the Microsoft Solitaire community over the weekend. Hundreds of tries later, many people discovered that it was actually unsolvable, even on Easy Mode, and reported a ticket to Microsoft to solve it.

Microsoft Solitaire Tri-Peaks 9/16/2023 may be unsolvable. I’ve tried more than a dozen times and cannot solve, which would be first unsolvable game for me in over five years. Please review. Thanks.

Update: The developer released a new Tri Peaks challenge for 9/16 that is now solvable. Just restart the app to get the updated challenge. According to them, this time you will succeed in completing it.

Many other Solitaire Masters have tried their luck with the old challenge to no avail. Zemin Jin, a popular Solitaire master, found it hard to play this challenge on Easy Mode, and still didn’t find a solution to it.

The developer recognized that it was a problem with their 9/16 challenge and later on, they fixed it:

We are aware of an issue with the 9/16/23 Tri Peaks Daily Challenge in Microsoft Solitaire Collection making it unsolvable. Thank you for your patience as we work to resolve this error.

Microsoft TriPeaks September 16 2023 Challenge was bugged

Well, it wouldn’t be called a challenge if it wasn’t a challenge, in the first place, right? But even so, when Solitaire Masters were left with no solutions, so it was an unsolvable game.tripeaks september 16 2023

Plus, it seems that the TriPeaks September 16 2023 Challenge is also destroying people’s records at the game.

I have been playing the daily games for over 5 years and can confidently say the game on 9/16 Sept. is unsolvable. You can get down to 1 card remaining which in my case is an 8. If it were 7 the game would progress but it won’t. That means my perfect record over 5 years is no longer! If anyone can prove me wrong please reply.

I cannot solve this after 2 days of trying – as everyone says the 8 card is always left with no possibility of finishing. I think they got the number of 7’s wrong – it should be 4 and not 7, which makes sense with the ‘Easy’ category. This is the first unsolvable game for me since October 2015.

A player also came up with a potential solution
